A White Buck

Today we walked at Canadian Cross. it was a fairly mild pleasant day with the sun shining. We wandered down the hill and then along the banks of the stream, before making our way back up the hill. As we were walking up the hill we saw what looked like a white pony but we soon realised that it was a fallow deer. Fallow deer have a range of coat colours, most commonly from mid brown to dark brown and some have a spotted coat even as adults. Every so often you see an almost white one and these are not Albinos they just have a very light coloured coat. Fortunately the dogs did not see the deer and we were able to ut them on the lead whilst I took some photos. So often we see the deer but they so quickly move out of our path that we do not have time to take photos , but today Iwas lucky and I have several good pic.

  1. I've never seen a deer this color! How beautiful. Thanks for sharing this picture! Amazing. Deer are such lovely animals anyway.
