First Evening Forest Walk of the Year.

John was home early tonight and we were able to take the dogs for a short evening walk in the forest
Raffles loves these evening walks as it is when all the bunnies are around. He loves to chase the bunnies. They re far to quick for him, but he enjoys it.
Neither of the dogs noticed the deer grazing quietly in the distance.
Missy would rather play with a ball and big puddles are more her style than chasing bunnies.
As we drove home we saw these two little foals with their mums.

Late Afternoon at Ocknell

Two foals nuzzle together

The pathway at Ocknell, and Raffles measures the depth of the puddles.

The sun came out late this afternoon so we took the dogs up to Ocknell for a short walk. There are big puddles all over the Forest, so really it was more of a splish splash than a walk, but the dogs enjoyed it. Ocknell pond is normally dry for the summer months but today it was hard to decide where the pond ended and the puddles began.

Stretching the legs at Fritham

After yesterdays long trip to Norwich, we were glad to go for a walk at Fritham and stretch our legs. These three little foals were having good play together, whilst their mothers looked on. We saw several groups of deer as we walked.
it was quite windy out and dull, but we haven't had any rain yet, although the weather forecast is not promising any return to summer in the near future.

Todays Foal

here is todays foal seen at South Bentley. We walked down through the Inclosure and along the little stream known as Dockens water. The wood anenomes are flowering now and I also found some Marsh Marigolds in the stream. It has been a beautiful day and when we got home we treated ourselves to an ice cream (The ice cream van parks across our drive whilst he is serving customers and when ever we buy an Icecream he always gives us two small ones for the dogs. So we had happy dogs!
