So much Mud in the Forest!
Well the unpredicatable summer weather continues. Yesterday we left home in sunshine , but within minutes we were drenched! Today we have threatening skies again. meanwhile just up the road , tractors are pulling cars out of the fields where the steam rally is taking place. The road is covered in mud. But I expect some rain will sooncome and wash it away.

Milly ford on a damp morning
We walked at Millyford this morning. It was dull and damp, not a good day for photos. I did like this shot of the pony though. On our walk we passed the site , where there had once been a cottage and part of the garden can still be seen growing amongst the forest trees. The Daffodils are budding up and I made a note to go back in a couple of weeks time to see them.

A little grey at Millyford
We have been having some rather dull grey days . Today looked promising as I sat in the traffic jam(a gas leak) on the way to the forest, but by the time we got there the sun had gone back behind the clouds. As we walked near the little bridge we disturbed a big herd of fallow bucks, they ran around for several minutes coming back towards us before they finally disappeared. They moved too quickly to get any decent photos but we got some very good views of them, before we continued our walk. We walked along the banks of Highland water for a while , before returning to the track and making our way back to the car park.

Another walk at Millyford
King of the New Forest. This majestic fallow Buck stood on the path for several minutes just watching us before he sauntered across followed by three smaller bucks, a little further on we spotted them through the trees watching us.As you can see we have had more heavy rain and windy conditions. Today we walked in sunshine but as we were driving home th clouds began to roll in and the skies darkened. it was pouring with rain by the time I got home.

Back to Millyford

We walked at Millyford again this afternoon
. despite another day of heavy rain yesterday the waterlevels had gone down. The little waterfall was still roaring away though . The wet and windy weather has blown alot of leaves of the trees.Today although quite chilly was sunny and for most of the day we had deep blue skies. As we got back to the car we caught the last rays of the sun.
