More rain than sunshine

Today started off beautifully sunny, although a little cool and I took the camera on my morning walk at Busketts. There is a splendid oak with low branches for climbing on in the carpark. Leaving the carpark we walk along side the cricket pitch, only a few matches are played here each year. Crossing a small ditch we walk through the trees and down to the stream. Raffles has a paddle but Missy loves to swim in the deeper parts.
As we came back along the ditch I suddnely saw a patch of the Common Purple Orchid had appeared. A couple af weeks ago I looked and could barely see any signs, just a leaf here or there. I love to look at these orchids, they may not have the same flamboyance of the larger oriental orchids but they are so beautifuly marked. As we returned to the carpark I noticed how intersting the dead tree looked as its bare branches stood out against the green of its neighbours.
By mid morning the sun had disappeared and when we went for our afternoon walk we got very wet.
By 8pm the sky was blue again.
