A purple walk

Another walk at Deadmans Hill to admire the heather, which is in full bloom now. The air has a slight scent from the heather that reminds me of honey. A black cloud is passing over but the sun comes in and out and it is very pleasant down in the little valley. Although the road is visible running along the top of the slope we cannot hear it and it is very peaceful. About half way through our walk a small herd of about 6 fallow deer skipped across the path and then were gone.

It looks like the blogger image tool is finally working so I will try and post a couple more pictures. Here Missy and Raffles are taking a cooling dip in the little stream before we climb back up the hill to the car park.

This morning we met Missy's friend Barney the Labrador. He is 9 months older than Missy and they just love chasing each other all over the forest.
