Another beautiful October day.

We walked at Fritham this afternoon. It was a beautiful Sunny afternoon and we were soon very warm and had to discard our fleeces. Because we were enjoying the weather so much we extended our walk. It was very peaceful in the woods. There is still little sign of autumnal colours . In fact the beech leaves look a very pretty green as the sunlight filtered through them. Although we didn't see any deer the dogs could smell them and had a wonderful time running through the trees and playing in what little water was leftin the stream. As usual Missy and Dora had to have a mad five minutes at the end of the walk. They clearly play to their own set of rules and although at times it seems very rough they never seem to hurt each other. Raffles prefers to stay out of the way and will occasionally give a warning growl if they run into him.

I have found Forest Walks by following a link of Sonia's (Leaves of Grass)...what a wonderful blog this is! I live & garden in the woods in New England--we are Empty Nesters w/2 smooth collies & 2 Maine coon cats as well as 4 beehives. I have walked in England, Scotland & Wales & miss your footpaths. Your dogs are lovely!
