Bird Watching at Blashford
Monday morning was beautiful. We decided to go to Blashford and when we arrived all the feeders were busy. Sometimes the birds seemed to be queuing up waiting for a place. It was very busy people wise too. After a short time in the Woodland hide we wandered down to one of the lake hides and had our soup whilst we watched the ducks. Whilst we were there the skies darkened and we just made it back to the woodland hide before the heavens opened. However it was just a heavy shower and soon the sun reappeared. besides the tits chaffinches and siskins we saw dunnock, goldfinches and bramblings.
Walking towards the car we were told that some redpoll were about. I had never seen them before and soon we were lucky enough to see them on the feeders.
