The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine anymore!

Well at least it isn't raining today, just a little drizzle ,but very dark and gloomy.
We took the dogs for a good walk, although Missy is protesting at being on the lead....only another week and then you can run free again Missy.

Mogshade pond is very full and three white ponies were drinking from it.

Christmas Holidays

We spent a quiet Christmas at home with the Dogs and Iain. The weather was very changeable with some bright frosty mornings and then a wet Christmas day followed by overcast days. We walked with karen and Taivas one day, and all the dogs had fun, in the mud. Now we are nearly into the New Year.

Sunshine on a Winters Day

Today we had just the right weather for a walk, cold, sunny but very little wind. We went up to the Canadian Cross and down through the Inclosure. From here we walked along the little stream known as Highland Water. The trees are nearly bare now, although the odd one or two are still clinging to their leaves. Finally we came up Mogshade Hill to the pond and then just down the road back to the car.

Highland water

After yesterdays non stop rain, the sun was shining again this morning. We went to Highland Water to see how the daffodils are coming on. There is a site where there was once a forest cottage, and although the cottage has long gone , traces of the garden still remain. Some years the daffodil display is spectacular, this year is not so good , but we found some blooms and eventually the dogs agreed to pose for us.
Highland Water itself was very full and flowing fast, we only just made it across the ford without it coming over the tops of our boots.
We are expecting more heavy rain tonight.
Missy finds a Forestry Commission sign on the path and with my help we returned it to the Log stacks!

The water levels have risen and Taivas had to pick her way carefully across..she does not like to get to wet.

Mogshade Hill, you can see the grey clouds and the blue sky

Thhis is the footpath, we had yet another night of very heavy rain.

Another view of the stormy skies

A little waterfall, its falling over the tree roots and is ony there because of all the heavy rain, but it looked so pretty.

Missy enjoys playing in the streams , which are now full of water.
