At Hatchetts Pond

Hey Mum look My neck is nearly as long as yours!

Mallard Duck

One little eye peeps out as the cygnets huddle together
This mallard Duck was swimming in her own puddle

The little Cygnets have changed a lot since our last visit

Black headed Gull perching on the signpost. sadly a notice was here warning fishermen to be take more care as the adult swans were getting entangled i discarded fishing line!

The Cygnets are much darker in colour and looking more like their parents, but they still have virtually no wings!

Late Afternoon at Ocknell

Two foals nuzzle together

The pathway at Ocknell, and Raffles measures the depth of the puddles.

The sun came out late this afternoon so we took the dogs up to Ocknell for a short walk. There are big puddles all over the Forest, so really it was more of a splish splash than a walk, but the dogs enjoyed it. Ocknell pond is normally dry for the summer months but today it was hard to decide where the pond ended and the puddles began.

It Rained a Lot.

It finally stopped raining this afternoon. Apparently we have had as much rain in the last two days as is normal for the whole month of May. There is certainly plety of water about . We walked a tSlufters pond this afternoon and these pictures show how flooded the footpaths were.
