Beautiful day today and we found a forest walk for the dogs before spending some time in the Village of Kilburn Robert Thompson was born here in 1896. He taught himself to use traditional carving tools and founded a company that is still making wonderful oak furniture today. it is still a family business. Every piece of his carving has a little mouse on it somewhere. After visiting his workshops we went into the village church and found little carved mice everywhere.
The rest of the day was spent admiring th beautiful scenery of this area and we finished up on the terraces of Rievaulx to see the views of the Abbey and have a well earned rest.
