Although Portsmouth is very near we have never been to The Historic Naval Dockyard before.
We went on the HMS Warrior The first iron Hulled Warship. She was both a sail and steam ship and was huge. We were able to explore all the decks. It was very spacious and interesting.
Then we went back in time and saw Nelsons Victory. This ws much smaller and we had to constantly duck to avoid hitting our heads on the beams. Finally we saw the remains of the Mary Rose THe Flagship of Henry VIII. They are constantly spraying this with a wax solution to preserve the wood and we were not allowed to take pictures. When we arrived home we took the dogs for a walk in the Forst at Andrews Mare. The dogs enjoyed the water whilst we took in the sunset.
