From Mist to Sun

This morning when I drove over to Gill's Ineeded the carlights on it was so misty, but whilst I was playing at being a potter the mist lifted and the sun came out.
Our afternoon walk atDeadmans Hill was warm and sunny. Fluffy clouds hung in a beautiful blue sky.
Someone asked me why is the carpark called Deadmans Hill and the answer is I don't really know but all the Forest carparks take there names from local features so it is possible that a gallows was once here.......or another explanation could be by the time you have climbed the hill up to the carpark you are a deadman!

I picked up yours post while doing a search on Dead Man's Hill. I just thought I'd pass on the fact that apparently...

"It is understood that the site acquired its name during the Second World War, when it was used as a mass grave."

I don't know if this is true because I grabbed it from a snippet of an academic paper.
