Walking from Abbots Well carpark

We found a new walk today from Abbots Well carpark. The promised sunny day did not arrive and as we drove to Abbots Well we had a few spots of rain. Once we had crossed the stream we just wandered across the meadow where the dogs found plenty of bunnies not to chase. Then we found a sandy ride to walk along. Although there were plenty of deer tracks we didnt see any deer. We found a track leading down to the bog and had to go into the enclosure to find a place where we could cross the stream and bypass the bog. The dogs enjoy exploring new places and Missy and Dora had several games of chase in the heather and bracken. It was very warm down in the valley and it was good to climb up towards Hampton Ridge and get the breeze. In places the path was a little muddy and I hope Gills new trainers did not get too dirty!Just before we got back to the car park we had some good views of a buzzard cicling overhead.
It made a pleasnat change to find a new walk and we enjoyed our afternoon.
