A walk from Cadmans pond

This morning we started our walk from Cadman's Pond. The dogs aren't allowed to swim here so we quickly walked through the woods and down to Dockens water. Here Missy could swim. We walked along to Holly Hatch Cottage. This was the home of Gilbert Smith (1906-1985) a forest keeper for many years.His book" Man of the Forest" tells of his life here.( Apparently his grandfather killed the last wild Boar in the forest. ) From here we went into Holly Hatch enclosure......we didn't see any deer today but Missy and Raffles could smell them. Finally we came back out into the open heath and back to the pond.
