Evening Walk at Pigbush.

It started off dull and overcast and for much of the day there was a fair breeze. Tonight we walked at Pigbush and the wind had dropped. The sun had come out and it was pleasantly warm.Raffles found plenty of Bunnies to chase and as we walked through the enclosure we heard the warning barks of a group of deer.Eventually they skipped across the path, just in front of some stacked timber.

Do deer bark? I've never heard them.

One more reason to visit the New Forest!

Kathy the deer do ocassionally emit short barks as warning sounds especially if they have young. of couse if you really want to hear the deer the best time to visit is in mid october when the Bucks are rutting and constantly roaring. Their grunts carry for miles.
