
The Oak Inn at bank. it used to be called the Royal Oak but its seems to have lost its royal status.

When a freind of mine bought the place from the whitbread brewery some 20 years ago,it was called the Royal Oak,As there were 2 other pubs in the forest called the Royal Oak, 1 @ Fritham & 1 @ Gorley, he felt people from out of the area could become confused, & was minded to change the name.
A fact emphsised when a local builers merchant tried to deliver material to Gorley instead of Bank!1 name he considered was the Piggin Acorn, but the Oak Inn at Bank won the day.
