so cute :)Magic is probably now the size of a full grown pug *lol* - are Labs & retrievers the same breeds but with shorter hair? as I know they look alike in their faces. Do you see a lot of Labs a guide dogs for the blind in England?

Retrievers are a group name for several breeds.
Labrador Retrievers
Golden Retrievers
Flatcoated Retrievers
Curlycoated Retrievers.
Cheasapeke bay Retrievers
Nova scotia duck tolling retrievers
They are all distinct breeds but were all originally developed to retrieve game.
Labs are the most common guide dogs here in the Uk, but all sorts of different breeds are being trained as hearing dogs or dogs for the disabled. Also in recent years the Labradoodle has become more popular . They are crosses of labs and poodles and have the advantage of having the poodle coat which does not shed and is less likely to cause allergies.
