I have Been Tagged

Well thanks Karen! You have been Blogging for less than a week and you tag me!
Now I have to find Seven things that not many people know about me and then find Seven other victims (sorry other bloggers )to tag!
Now what do people not know about me.

1. I have a phobia about spiders. When they scuttle across a room they send shivers down my spine.

2. I find pleasure in the little things in life. Seeing a deer on a walk is enough to make the day special. I can spend hours just watching little things and this can best be summed up in the following poem.

Leisure
by William Henry Davies

"
What is this life if ,full of care
We have no time to stand and stare?
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare
."

3.I was born and lived for 35 years on the outskirts of London, before moving to the New Forest, where I have been for the last 20 years

4.My sister taught me to cross stitch a few years ago and now I make a lot of cards to send to my friends and family for Christmas and birthdays . For the first time I realised that there might be a little creative streak in me.

5. Since I started walking with Karen I have realised that my sense of direction is not the worst in the world. I may have difficulty distinguishing left from right but i have a slightly better chance than she does of finding the way home. (having said that we do get lost on many occasions)

6. When we moved to the New Forest I started studying with the Open Univerity( Distance learning if only I had possessed a computer in those days , writing those essays would have been so much easy) and I obtained a BA degree. I enjoyed courses on comparative religions, history and art. As I already have Microbiological qualifications this was a big change in direction for me.

7.I am fascinated by fungi and the New Forest is full of different species, which I am learning to identify. It is my aim to be confident enough to pick and eat some of the edible species that are abundant in the woods during the autumn.

Now to find Seven people to tag.

1. Britt Arnild
I visit the House in the woods everyday and I am inspired by her wonderful insight into everyday life. She lives in Norway and I enjoy visiting this part of the world.

2. Abraham and Happy

Abe and Happy live in Australia with their Mum Val, we have been blogging friends for a while now and I love to see glimpses into their lives.

3.Ocean and Forest Walks

I have only been visiting this blog for a short while. here I go to Vancouver Island and learn about the wildlife. Having been to Vancouver Island a few years ago I feel at home when I recognise some of the places.

4.Mo's Inspiring Moments
I only discovered this blog recently. Mo lives in Scotland and is recovering from ME.

5.Bella Gubbio

Terri is a friend who I met in a Yahoo group run by Britt Arnild and she lives in the USA. Terri has a love of Italy and all things Italian.

6.What do I know ?

Kathy is an American living in England and it is interesting to see how she views English life

7.Leaves of Grass

Finally we go to visit Sonia in Brazil, another friend from armchair travelling. Sonia talks about her life and family in Brazil. She also finds interesting links to a variety of sites on the internet.

Remember friends you do not have to participate in this, but if you do, you just need to find seven more blogs to tag and tell us seven things that not many people know about you.Have fun!

I got lost in the woods near High Wycombe the other day, although I suspect the dog knew exactly where she was.

I will get on that meme right away!

I am very honored and grateful with your nice words about me and my blog and also with your gentle request to answer this Tag. Thanks so much! I would like to answer that Tag, but as I don't write well in English and I'm just no good at grammar, is difficult to me translate my thoughts from Portuguese to English, principally in personal themes. Times ago, I did this, but it was very difficult. So, I'm sorry I can't answer that Tag for now. Have a nice day!

Thanks for the tag. I'm was kind of lost for something to write today so I shall take it up. My mum did an OU degree too after she retired so I know it's a lot of hard work. She was the other way round - she did sciences because she'd always studied arts.

And aha, a fellow cross stitcher who's caught the bug!
