But then he came nearer and we were able to get some better shots.

I was thrilled with these last two shots

OMG Mary, you lucky thing. They are fantastic shots, I'm so jealous. I got all excited just seeing one whizz past us up the river at about 70mph! When I saw the first photo with the lyrics next to it, I thought you'd copied the photo from a professional bird web site. Fabulous.

Just a thought, do you know about the bird forum Pete and I belong to? Don't know if you would be interested, but others on there would be interested in your super bird photographs. Please consider joining and post your Kingfisher on there, and make everyone sick as a pig! It's at http://forum.biggonline.co.uk/

Have just encountered your blog site - am very new to this game! What stunning photos of the Kingfisher - my favourite of all birds. Have only seen one flash by in Cornwall and have never seen anything like your photos. What a magnificent experience and thank you so much for sharing this with your readers.

Also have never encountered anyone in this country (I grew up in Canada) who is a fan of Gordon Lightfoot! Saw him live in a concert back in 1967 - superb!!
